Welcome to Delft, one of the cosiest cities in South Holland! Delft is famous throughout the world thanks to its connection with a well-known Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, Delft Blue pottery, and the royal family. It is a lovely city nearby The Hague with a compact city centre where you can barely see cars. This makes the city even more enjoyable to walk around. Most of the sights can be reached within a 20 minutes walk from the city centre.

To have an interesting day out, you may want to visit The Science Centre Delft which has many interactive features and is maintained by the university. By the way, Delft University of Technology is one of the oldest universities in the Netherlands with one of the biggest campuses in the world! For really curious ones, Delft has a tobacco museum where you can find out the history of tobacco trade and see a large collection of pipes. Despite of being quite a small city, mostly for pedestrians, Delft has easy and convenient public transportation.
